Free Content Credentials Marker Checker

What this tool does: it checks the image container for an embedded C2PA marker. The file stays in your browser. Marker presence does not validate the manifest or signer, and marker absence does not show that the image is synthetic, deceptive or edited.

Runs locally in your browser

Check an image container

This check reads the selected file in browser memory. It does not upload the image or retain a copy.

Marker detection is only the first step

What should you do next?

If a marker is found, use a C2PA-compatible cryptographic validator and inspect the exact assertions, validation state and signer. If no marker is found, ask for the original asset or an external manifest before concluding that provenance is unavailable.
